Grant Information
The HMRF strongly believes in spending its money on the needs of member athletes and their education, as well as furthering their coach's         education.
Financial aid depends upon athlete membership and qualifying events. Qualifying for higher levels of competition merits more support. Grant amounts depend upon the number of athletes requests against available funds.  The Foundation will tally athlete requests and divide available funds equitably among athletes seeking assistance.
One must be a member of the Foundation to be eligible for grant monies.
Grant applications may be acquired by clicking the link on the left of this screen or by emailing sberwick@huntermtn.com.
Grants applications and issuances are received and processed by the HMRF Treasurer.

Grants for camps will be awarded based on monies available and merit.  Camp grant amounts will be voted on by the Board of Directors

Letters From Our Athletes

July 2009
Dear HMRF,
I wanted to thank you for all the support you gave me last season. With your help, I was able to go all the way to Can Am Championship. This was my last season as a J4 but I was able to win RVW Council title for 2 years, win NY State Championship (both GS and SL), 4th in Future Stars, and at Can-Am, I got 2nd in GS and 3rd in SL. I fell a bit in both GS and SL but was able to got up quick and finish my run. 1st place on my first run at Can-Am GS gave me a confidence for the future. I know I have to train harder and practice more next season as I move up to J3s but I believe I can do it.
I also wanted to thank everyone at Hunter Mountain for giving me everything I need to train for the competition. I know I am not the best behaved kid around but I promise I will do my best.
Looking forward to skiing at Hunter soon!

Everyone at HMRF,

I am on my way back up to school. I would like to personally thank all of you for the grant to help cover my athletic expenses. It is extremely helpful and greatly reduces the stress that I would go through to figure out a way to raise the money on my own. This grant has helped me focus less on the finances and much more on physical training. I hope that I can represent all of you and the mountain through my success at Plymouth. I hope you all had an excellent Thanksgiving. And once again thank you all.

Sincerely
Tyler Bailey

Dear Scott and other Members of the Foundation,

I'd like to thank you for your kindness throughout the years.  Hunter is still one of my favorite places, not just because of the skiing, but the people as well.  I continue to enjoy coming back whenever I am available to give my time and to talk to the many people I've become acquainted with.
Still to this day I call Hunter my home mountain and will continue to do so throughout the future.  I know I chose to go the college route this past year, but I'm still striving to do the best in my skiing endeavors while can.  I greatly appreciate your very generous offer and will continue to represent Hunter Mountain in the best possible way!

Thanks always!

Dear Suzy Motzkin, HMRF President and the HMRF Board of Directors
This summer I was invited to attend the USSA Elite Performance Conference in Park City, UT. This conference brought together the U.S.S.T World Cup Staff, Sports Science Staff, Education Staff and 50 of the top coaches in the country. I am very proud to be among these few dedicated individuals.
Though the conference was directed to alpine ski racing, much of the messages and methodologies can be applied to our Competition Team Program. I will be providing each of our staff with a cd-rom of the information and video provided by USSA.
The conference allowed me to reconnect with coaches from other programs, the USST and the Sports Science Department. It also confirmed what I know as a coach and opened my mind to new ideas to be a better leader.
Thank you for your continued support and the support of our program.
Sincerely,
Jim Catalano
